Well…it has been a great year here at The Grape Calls. We saw the creation of the blog, the hotline (331-68-GRAPE), the bg news, a new website, and beers! Pretty good, yeah?
First things first – when you think of Champagne, you’re thinking of sparkling wine. You are only drinking Champagne when you drink wine from Champagne, France. Otherwise, you’re just drinking sparkling wine. It’s kinda like calling a tissue a Kleenex – Champagne is a place, and any sparkling wine from any other place should not be called Champagne. Anyone using it outside of the wineries in Champagne, France are ripping off the name.
Anywho, I figured it was appropriate to do a bubbly for the new year. This Prosecco that Scott and I had was really quite excellent. What struck me the most about it was 1) the cool bottle, and 2) the body of the wine. Quite tasty. I’ve seen it at the Andersons for around $14, so go get it, now! Thanks so much for all the great comments, suggestions, and most of all, your viewership – it means a lot to Scott and I. See you guys in 2010!
